Deception

Deception is a primary topic in scripture. It begins in the Garden of Eden and is a part of the last days as mentioned during the Great Tribulation. The Scripture also tells us that even the elect would face absolute deception unless the Lord had protected us. I think this means the deceiver becomes so proficient, that in the last days that believers will have difficulty discerning what is true.

Our generation is challenged with everyday living and world challenges. The last decade has unleashed new economic upheaval, world calamities, increased poverty, and a horde of demonic strategies. The enemy has also increased his ability to deceive the world against Christ and His church. Included in this assault are demonic systems that challenge the simplest forms of our faith. Things such as; the display of the Ten Commandments, Nativity Scenes, and the public playing of Christmas Carols. All these things are a culmination and strategy of the enemy to trap the church and God’s people into total deception.

There are 3 places in scripture that gives us tips to deception proof our life.

    i. Deceived about the goodness of God

James 1:16…Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers. 17Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

ii. The deception of an unbridled tongue

James 1:26…If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.

iii. Deceived by only hearing the word

James 1:22-25…Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does.

Maybe we will have the opportunity to live Revolutionary Lives because of the obstacles we must overcome.  These are days to be a God-seeker and stay close to your word.  It is the only way to make sure you are walking in truth.

God Bless the Revolutionaries,
