As I watch the NFL these days I am so intrigued with the dual infatuation of being relevant and retro at the same time. Several teams are sporting “throw back uniforms.” These uniforms remind many of us of the former days and create the tendency to remember them as “the good ole days.”
I am personally intrigued by the simplicity of this, yet amazed as to how this custom fits our culture. The “good ole days” philosophy has been adopted by people who have failed to stay passionate about their future. If your primary focus is on your past, your future is undeveloped.
You see most of us have the tendency to live in the past or to hope that our future will be better.
The vast problem with both these philosophies is they steal the importance of living in the reality of what God wants for today. You see; what’s past is past, and tomorrow may never come.
The key to moving beyond where you were and pursuing where your going is to see the value of this day! Today is the only day that God has promised us. Yesterday is gone; tomorrow may not arrive.
The greatest opportunity is to live with faith and passion TODAY!
